What does the Bible say about fear?
The Bible returns to fear again and again — not to shame it, but to answer it. Its most direct word is that fear is not the spirit God gives us:
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear is not rebuked here so much as replaced. Paul names three things given in its place — power, love, and a sound mind — and each is something fear tries to take from us.
